Whoa!!! The Ole Miss Rebs put together an impressive display in Dallas to whip up on the Red Raiders of Texas Tech 47-34. The Rebs overcame some first quarter mistakes and took a 3 point lead at the half. I will admit, at that point I was nervous about how the second half would play out, but the Rebs came on strong with the Defense and the ground game. It was a great game to watch. For me, as I am sure for some others, I thought the pick six sealed the deal. Not the case, we scored some more, but the Raiders came on in the 4th quarter and made it interesting. Even though the score was not a clear indication of the actual contest. Some of this was helped out by us with the fumble down on the goaline, but the Rebs D answered the bell and produced a safety on the following possession. As I type this and try to recall how the game played out, but my pounding head prevents me for recalling all the events that might have sealed the deal. I guess you can understand the celebration... We did just beat the #8 team in the country like a rented mule. 96% said we couldn't... WE DID!! Or maybe it was 95%, I forget... who cares, we won big baby. Despite the fact that Red Raider QB threw for 364 yards, I thought the Defense did a fine job overall in preventing them from getting into a groove. The offensive did its part controlling the clock and keeping the potent Raider offense off the field. The Rebs held the ball for 11 minutes longer than the Raiders. Not to many people would believe me if I said I thought we would beat them and the score would be a lot closer than the game really was, but it is true. I did tell a few people that. That could have just come from a moment of overconfidence on my part, but it did happen. I guess hindsight is 20/20. Enough with this reduced brain cell rant. I don't have the train of thought to continue typing, so here are some post game notes....
