Early graduate/enrollee and ESPN #1 ranked recruit in the country Russell Shepard filled out his financial aid paperwork and signed a letter of promise, which is the same thing as a letter of intent for early enrollees, at LSU yesterday and will start classes Jan 9th. Described by ESPN as "Pat White with an arm". The next 4 years should be fun to watch. Here are some stats.

2008: Completed 116 of 211 attempts (55-percent) for 1,843 yards, 20 touchdowns and four interceptions... Carried 257 times for 1,946 yards (7.6 average) and 28 touchdowns. Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year and first team all-state selection. Houston area offensive player of the year recognition. Committed during junior year. Reportedly holding 35 scholarship offers at time of commitment (Houston Chronicle). 2007: Passed for 794 yards and seven touchdowns. Rushed for 1,525 yards and 18 touchdowns.
