FAT GUY DOING "SINGLE LADIES" TO START OFF THE WEEKEND

I almost shit my pants from laughing when I saw this.

Kenny "F'n" Powers!!!

This got brought to my attention by a friend of the blog and it is too good not to post. Careful though, there is some language. New season of "Eastbound and Down" begins in September. If you haven't seen the show this will give you an idea of its hillarity.

Victory!!!!

In the much anticipated final match for the US in Group stage C versus Algeria, the US has prevailed. Unbelievable, 91 minute of the match and Landon Donovan cleans up the mess. It was a well fought contest and the US had more than ample scoring opportunities. Yeah sure, we got hosed early when the ref called the goal off by Dempsey because he said he was offsides, but they kept on attacking. And kept on and kept on. If you missed it live, I hate that you did. Although the highlights on EPSN will be running for the next couple of days, possibly weeks. It just seemed like it wasn't going to happen. So many opportunities that went to the wayside. Missed chances, missed kicks and the ref debacle...again. One got the sense that it just wasn't meant to be. That the US wasn't going to get there chance to advance to the knockout round and just like the announcers said, it all can happen in a split second and it did. I think a bit of gratitude has to be given to our US goalie Tim Howard. After he made the save off an Algerian chance, he quickly distributed the ball out to Donovan who started the break. A quick pass to Altidore, who passed to Dempsey who took the chance at goal only to be denied and the ball bouncing behind him out of the goal keepers reach and the man who started the break ended it. Incredible!! Unbelievable!! Awesome!!

We still haven't found out who we will play in the knockout round, but that match will be either Germany,Ghana, or Serbia. They square off this afternoon to determine who moves on. We'll worry about that when the time gets here. For now, GO USA!!!

Judgement Day

Well it all comes down to this for the US team, as well as the team from England...Win and your In. Wednesday, June 23 @ 8:30am on ESPN the US will be taking on Algeria to determine there fate and attempt to reach the round of 16. A victory is a sure fire ticket to the next round but in the rather unfortunate event of a draw there is still a chance if England draws with Slovenia and there is a goal differential. Heres to hoping that it doesn't come down to that and the US takes care of its business. Nevermind the Brits, we don't concern ourselves with them. Lets just take care of business and I think we will. Like I said in my last post in regard to the US in the World Cup, if we play this game with the intelligence and intensity that we played the second half against Slovenia, then we will win the Match. A loss, and it is over.
FYI: In case you were wondering, the Brit on the left is Wayne Rooney, arguably one of the bestter soccer players in the world. He has had a quiet world cup.
Bonus Video that has nothing to do with the US. Saw this live and it still pretty incredible and extremely lucky. Goal by Cristiano Ronaldo against North Korea. You've probably seen it.

Have a great weekend, I'm out!!

Oh Well....

I am glad we got the draw but we got hosed in this contest. Going into the half being down 2-0, I was thinking we were done. Dead in the water. The announcers were arguing about the suspect officiating in the match and after seeing all the replays up close I couldn't agree more. Some real shaky calls and unfortunately it carried over into the second half as well. However, the US team looked like a different squad in the second half. They were more aggressive and this led to more opportunities as well. After drawing within a goal by a sweet shot by Landon Donovan, you could just see the momentum shift. US got after it and Slovenia wasn't sure how to react. Seriously, the keeper for Slovania looked like he was protecting himself instead of trying to stop the shot. The way the ball came in, if it would have hit him, it would have shattered his nose. Anywho, Us back on the attack in the 82 or so minute and the coachs son, Michael Bradley, makes pops and the country proud with the equalizer. This was obviously huge because we just couldn't have a loss. The draw keeps us in it depending on what happens in the match between England and Algeria and so on. Not much later in the contest, around the 86 minute is when the wheels really came off for the officiating. A foul on Donovan just outside the box as he was trying to make the most of a second scoring chance, setup a free kick which ended up in a clean US goal and the lead late in the game. A remarkable comeback and hope, but wait. The official blows it off for a foul. Still a mystery as to what the foul was. There was no foul, there was no offsides. It was picture perfect and the ref blew it, as it he had done the whole contest with the cheap fouls, etc. I will say this, when he did give a player a card, they deserved it. The US got hosed, but at least they did walk away with a draw and that does keep them in the hunt still. The outcome of the England/Algeria matchup is undoubtedly huge. But, the fact of the matter is the US has to absolutely win there next contest and I think they have the momentum now to do so. Coming back from being down 2 goals to tie and the way they played in the second half. I like our chances.

The Sporting World...Game 7 Tonight!!

Not that this is a big deal or anything, but it is the 7th and decisive game of the NBA season. All the marbles, tonight. There ain't no more tomorrows. After game 6 you gotta give the edge to the Lakers, but the Celtics are 4-0 alltime in game 7's against the Lakers. Much drama indeed, which is what makes sports so fantastic in all its ways. Now, personally, it doesn't make a difference to me who wins this thing, but there is history and reputations on the line as well. If Kobe can get him another title then you gotta put him in the elite class. He got his first couple with Shaq, so those are always suspect in terms of greatness. He has a chip on his shoulder and wants to prove that he can get it done on his own. He's done it once already, and twice would be nice. As for the Celtics "Big 3" or should we say, "Big 4", this is just a little bit more icing on what is already an impressive resume (cake). I really feel this game hinges on Rondo. I know the "Big 3" gotta step up and play ball, but it all hinges on Rondo. If and when Rondo plays lights out, scoring, assist, rebounds, steals, then obviously the Celtics play there best ball. But who really knows, I mean Ray Ray may come in on fire and start bustin 3 balls left and right. But, I still feel that this is all about Rondo. Just my opinion. I could be wrong. Anywho, should be a thriller.

In addition, on the World Cup front, in case you missed it this past week, The US and England played to a 1-1 draw in there opening match of the Cup and the Americans were damn lucky to get a draw. I'm sure that if you have a pulse that you saw the goal. Anyway, the US squares off Tomorrow morning @ 8:30 am vs Slovenia. This is a must win situation for the US team. Slovenia defeated Algeria in there fisrt match so they hold the lead in Group C standings. Anything less than a victory and you gotta think that the US has got one foot out the door and another on a banana peel. Lots can happen, other teams can tie and lose and so forth, but this needs to be treated as a must victory and a victory is what the American squad needs. I know that most of you will be at work, but you can track the happenings via the web. It will be friday morning, so you won't feel like working anyway, might as well watch soccer. GO USA!!!

In honor of Mac's return....

Inmates and all...

Rock and Roll!!!!!

Now I don't know for certain, but you gotta think that this is what was playing out in Mac's mind as he made his triumphant return to the blogosphere. I mean, suitin up, lock and load. Its no hold bar now! Deal with It!! I'm here

FUCK THE HATERS!!!

I'm back bitches and there's nothing you can do about it. I have been pissed off because I let someone dictate what I said on this blog. Well no more. Last time I checked, I am the only one writing or being written about who has volunteered to fight for freedom of speech so everyone else can suck it. Why the change? I heard Eminem's new song today and it really made sense. So like Eminem said... "Aint no way I'm gonna let you stop me from causing mayhem when I say I'm gonna do something I do it. I don't give a damn what you think, I'm doing this for me, so fuck the world feed it beans, it's gassed up if it thinks it's stopping me. I'm gonna be what I set out to be, without a doubt undoubtably, and all that those who look down on me I'm tearing down your balcony"

P.S. Eminem's new CD is pretty damn good. I suggest you get it.

NBA Finals Rant

Well you can chalk up game three to the Lakers bench, Fisher in particular, and the fact that the Celtics just didn't seem to show up, well not all of them. KG got in the action with a good game, Rondo played solid, as he does, but Ray Ray, was just Ray Ray. No flash of game 2 magic. Kobe had a modest day by his standards but really took control late in the game to help finish the Celtics off. All the analyst were talking about that last three ball missed by Ray Ray was the one that let the air out the balloon and I gotta agree. Interesting point, if Ray Ray would have hit that one the Celtics would have been within a few points and still in the game, but he didn't and they pretty much quit as Fisher took it coast to coast. I am willing to bet there will be some fireworks in game 4 and by that I mean Kobe going off, Pierce, Allen, and Garnett start living up to the billing and putting the ball in the hoop. As for who wins, who knows. Lakers have the momentum at this point but you still gotta think the Celtics will scratch and claw to win game 4. We'll see. As you can tell, I really have nothing else to write about at this point. I have resorted to Basketball. At least it is the Finals and not some regular season matchup. I guess that makes it meaningful.

Welcome to the Show kid!!!

21 year old rookie lived up to the hype in his MLB debut. Unbelievable!! 14 strikeouts, 0 walks!!! Here is the piece from Globe Sports.

Over-hyped? Are you kidding? Stephen Strasburg went beyond the hype — and anyone's reasonable expectations — by striking out 14 batters in his electric major league debut.

With a standing-room-only crowd cheering every pitch, the Washington Nationals phenom put on a dazzling display of power pitching Tuesday night in a 5-2 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. His heaters reached 100 m.p.h., and batters found his nasty curveballs nearly impossible to hit.

“I just wanted to go out and soak up everything. It only happens once and I've been waiting for this my whole life,” Strasburg said.

Last year's No. 1 overall draft pick — the one with the record US$15.1 million contract — threw his first pitch 97 m.p.h. and got stronger as the game progressed. He struck out the last seven batters he faced, and all nine Pirates in the starting lineup fanned at least once.

The 21-year-old right-hander took a curtain call after pitching seven innings. He allowed four hits, two earned runs and didn't walk a batter, piling up the most strikeouts in a major league debut since J.R. Richard fanned 15 for Houston in 1971.

Karl Spooner also struck out 15 in his debut with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1954. He and Richard are the only two pitchers with more strikeouts than Strasburg in a big league debut since 1920 — and Spooner and Richard both had three walks.

Strasburg also tied Max Scherzer of the Detroit Tigers for most strikeouts in a game in the majors this season. Scherzer had 14 on May 30 against Oakland.

Strasburg was removed for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the seventh with a 4-2 lead. When it was announced that he had set a team record for strikeouts since the franchise's move to Washington in 2005, the crowd roared again — and Strasburg emerged to the top step of the dugout and tipped his cap.

During a post-game interview, Strasburg was pelted with a shaving cream pie to the face courtesy of teammate John Lannan. The rookie was quickly handed a towel, but after wiping his face was blindsided by two more pies — one to the face and another on top of his head.

“It's hard to talk with so much shaving cream on my head,” Strasburg said. “I just wanted to go out there and say I've had my first outing in the big leagues. I've had a great time.”

He threw 94 pitches — roughly the limit imposed by management before the game — and 65 were strikes. He made one noticeable mistake, a 90 m.p.h. changeup golfed by Delwyn Young into the first row in right field for a two-run homer in the fourth inning. The ball would have made a great souvenir, but a fan threw it back onto the field.

The homer gave the Pirates a 2-1 lead, but the Nationals put their rookie in position to win with three runs in the sixth. Adam Dunn hit a two-run homer, and Josh Willingham followed with a solo shot, allowing Strasburg to leave the game with a two-run lead.

Tyler Clippard pitched the eighth and Matt Capps the ninth for his 19th save.

Ryan Zimmerman also homered for the Nationals, another solo shot in the first inning. All three of Washington's home runs came off Pirates starter Jeff Karstens (1-2).

The day was nicknamed “Strasmus” — and it was the biggest baseball event in the nation's capital since the sport returned in 2005 after a 33-year absence. To go real deep into history, one could argue that Strasburg had the most anticipated Washington rookie pitching debut since Walter Johnson at the long-forgotten American League Park on Aug. 2, 1907.

Cameras flashed as Strasburg (1-0) threw his first pitch at 7:06 p.m. — well inside to leadoff hitter Andrew McCutchen. Fans booed when umpire Tom Hallion called it a ball.

Nationals catcher Ivan Rodriguez then handed the ball to Hallion and it was removed from play for posterity.

“I remember the adrenaline flowing about 2 o'clock,” Strasburg said.

McCutchen lined out to shortstop on a 2-0 pitch. Strasburg then got Neil Walker on a grounder to first and struck out Lastings Milledge with a pair of wicked curveballs for a 1-2-3 inning.

Only one Pirates batter reached against Strasburg in the first three innings. In the fourth, Strasburg allowed back-to-back singles. One of the runners was erased by a double play, but Young followed with his third homer of the season.

Strasburg was promoted after dominating the minors, going 7-2 with a 1.30 ERA, 65 strikeouts and only 13 walks in 11 starts in Double-A and Triple-A. His debut came nearly a year to the day after he was drafted No. 1 overall, and one day after the Nationals — who have lost 100 games in consecutive seasons — chose 17-year-old hitting sensation Bryce Harper with the No. 1 overall selection in this year's draft.

Strasburg is a low-key kid in a high-hype world, a focused youngster whose fastball is much more lively than his news conferences. He quietly went about his business preparing to take the mound, fiddling with his glove a few hours before the game at his new locker, located between those of Wil Nieves and J.D. Martin.

Washington sold out Nationals Park for only the second time all season, and went through an extra 2,000 standing-room-only tickets a few hours before the game. Fans cheered when Strasburg emerged from the dugout at 6:24 p.m. with pitching coach Steve McCatty. Surrounded by photographers and cameramen, Strasburg grinned at McCatty and said, “Let's go.”

Strasburg used the centre-field wall to do some stretching and then warmed up in the bullpen, where fans stood six-deep to watch. He received a standing ovation when he walked back to the dugout after the national anthem, and it was a funny moment when McCatty — not Strasburg — doffed his cap to acknowledge the cheers.

Among those in attendance was Strasburg's coach at San Diego State, Hall of Famer Tony Gwynn.

“Just a great night of baseball in Washington. He's got that behind him,” Nationals manager Jim Riggleman said.

Asked what he told the rookie before the game, Riggleman said he asked Strasburg the distance from the mound to home plate in the minors.

When Strasburg answered 60 feet six inches, Riggleman said: “You've got a good chance — because that's what it is here, too.”

Rodriguez, a 20-year big league veteran, was activated from the 15-day disabled list in time to catch the game.

“He knows what day it is,” Riggleman said.

World Cup Preview and Insight- USA

With typical efficiency, the United States reached the 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa™ by qualifying in first place in the final six-team Hexagonal phase of North, Central America and Caribbean Zone qualifying. Under the careful guidance of coach Bob Bradley, a well-drilled Stars and Stripes' blend of proven internationals and up-and-coming stars never looked in danger of missing out, and will be keen to build on their second-place finish at the FIFA Confederations Cup South Africa 2009.

The road to South Africa
After putting nine goals without reply past minnows Barbados in Stage 2, the USA found themselves drawn with Trinidad and Tobago, Guatemala and Cuba in Group 1 of Round 3. Bradley's charges held firm to win five of their six encounters in the penultimate group stage, their only defeat a 2-1 reverse in Port of Spain against the Soca Warriors with progress to the Hexagonal already in the bag.

The United States kicked off the decisive final phase in the best fashion possible by beating arch-rivals Mexico 2-0, a result they followed up with a 2-2 draw in El Salvador. A comfortable 3-0 victory over T&T was backed up by a 3-1 reverse in Costa Rica, one of only two defeats in the final section. The other came by a score of 2-1 in Mexico's fortress-like Estadio Azteca, though the Stars and Stripes kept their nerve to stay on track and clinch their South Africa 2010 ticket with a 3-2 win in another of CONCACAF's toughest grounds: the Estadio Olimpico in the Honduran city of San Pedro Sula.

The star players
In recent years, the name Landon Donovan has been synonymous with the US national team. The Los Angeles Galaxy attacker has often saved his very best performances for a USA shirt, and there is little doubt that Donovan will once again be one of his team's leading men at South Africa 2010. Providing an impressive supporting cast are the likes of Oguchi Onyewu, Michael Bradley, Jozy Altidore, Tim Howard and Clint Dempsey, all of whom are plying their trade on European soil.

The coach
Bradley was originally appointed national coach on a caretaker basis, though a run of ten games unbeaten quickly convinced the powers that be that he deserved the role on a permanent basis. And anyone who doubted his credentials would have been silenced by events at the FIFA Confederations Cup 2009, where the USA ousted favourites Spain in the semi-finals before going down to a narrow 3-2 final defeat to Brazil.

Previous FIFA World Cups

• The United States have taken part at nine FIFA World Cups, with Mexico the only CONCACAF team involved in more editions of the showpiece event.
• The Stars and Stripes' best finals performance came at Uruguay 1930, when they exited at the semi-final stage.
• South Africa 2010 will be the United States' sixth consecutive finals appearance. At Germany 2006 they bid farewell to the tournament at the first hurdle.

Records
• The United States' 2-0 victory over Spain at South Africa 2009 prevented La Roja extending their 35-game unbeaten run, a record they hold jointly with Brazil.
• The USA had enjoyed a 58-match unbeaten home streak against CONCACAF opponents until July 2009, when arch-rivals Mexico thrashed them 5-0 in the final of the Gold Cup.
• Altidore, currently on loan at English Premier League outfit Hull City from Villarreal, was the Stars and Stripes' six-goal top scorer in qualifying.

What they said
"We're very proud to have finished at the top of the final Hexagonal. It was a great effort and required a great deal of determination on our team's part. Every time we took the field we spoke about proving to the world what we were capable of and I think we did just that." Bob Bradley, USA coach, after his side claimed top spot in North, Central America and Caribbean Zone qualifying.

Monday Wakeup!!!

No, I didn't just wake up. But I can imagine you are just fighting to stay awake till you go on your lunch break. Now, snap a pencil!!!

What'd we miss?!?

Well, I see Mac has thrown in the towel. Okie doke. Moving on, this past week the sports world was pretty crazy. You had the blown call in Detroit, no need to go over that since it has been plastered all over the news the past few days. If you missed it, then you are a not alive. Secondly, The World Cup starts in just a few days. The U.S.A will be taking on England at 11:30 on Saturday Morning of June 12. The game is being televised here on the mainland and will be aired on ABC. I invite you all to watch it because our country has some good players so it should be a good match. Third, Just wasn't Ole Miss baseball time. Good year, made the tournament, but just wasn't clicking at the right time. And last, did you see "Jesus Shuttlesworth" last night??? 8, count em, 8 three pointers for a NBA Finals record.

Also, I am just gonna throw this out there and it has nothing to do with his triple/double last night, although that doesn't hurt. But, Rajon Rondo is one of, if not the best point guard in the NBA. Just saying. Since there last trip to the finals when Garnett, Pierce, and Allen carried the team, he has flipped a switch and now he is the one carrying the team. I don't watch much basketball, as a matter of fact , I don't watch it until the playoffs start. You are missing out if you aren't watching these NBA Finals, I tell ya.

I'M OUT BITCHES

I would like to officially tender my resignation as a contributor to this blog. Everyone who reads this blog loves the posts and especially loves posts about people they know, but when you do a little story on them they get all butt hurt and all of a sudden the blog is evil and I have to listen to a bunch of whining. With that being said, this will be my last post. I wish I could say I enjoyed it but that's not my style, so I will just invite you all to suck it.

Peace out,
Mac

THIS IS WHERE THEY ARE SENDING LSU FOR THE REGIONAL... SERIOUSLY?

Does the NCAA really think that LSU fans won't travel to SoCal? Have they ever met LSU fans? This place is going to be overloaded with drunk coonasses. Also, they do not allow you to cook anything outside of the stadium while tailgating. WTF? I guess I just answered my own question, they have never met an LSU fan. No cooking while tailgating... they should have sent Ole Miss there. They could have had the whole thing catered.

Leeroy Jenkins!!

This got brought to my attention about a week ago and I have been contemplating putting this up. It is rather old. I don't play "World of Warcraft" but apparently it is pretty popular. I say, to each his own. If this is your bag, then that's cool. However, Leroy makes it entertaining with his no-holds bar style of attack and colorful presentation. Careful at work, there is some language. You gotta admit, "oh my god, he just ran in" is pretty classic.

Buzz Bin Tuesday!!

We are gonna skip over a track and move right into this one. I think you need it considering it is Tuesday and you are probably recovering from a long Memorial Day weekend. With that being said, thank you to all members of our Armed Forces for what you do and the sacrifice that you make so that we can sit here on the net and goof off with a blog.
