Rebels Conquer Memphis!!!

I am going to be perfectly honest with you, I got rather "D" yesterday before, during, and after the game, so this is going to be fuzzy. Kinda the tale of two teams yesterday, where in the first half we were just trying to grease the tracks a little and made some errors that allowed Memphis to hang around for a 17-7 score at the half. The pick right there before the half ended was undoubtedly huge, therefore making it a two score game. The second half was a different story and Snead got hot and the route was on, not only with the score but with the consumption as well.I can remember saying, I think we need to score one more that way we could put up 40 on them. Well, Enrique Davis capped it and the final was 45-14. Its kinda hard to make a real assessment at this point, obviously we did our job considering that we beat them by 31 points, but it is hard to get the whole picture right now. Defense played good and I was glad to see us get some turnovers to combat the ones we gave them. The offense looked strong for a half but then again we were playing Memphis and I am not so sure that the are any real test to anyone. Maybe we are that good or maybe Memphis is that bad. Not sure and far to hungover to try and sort this all out, so enjoy the postgame notes.

T-minus 6 hours Rebel Faithful

Been a pretty crazy couple of days of football. Some have shined, some have fallen. I certainly hope we are not among the fallen when this day is done.

With that being said, enjoy your Sunday and your Monday off work.

In about 49 hours...It starts!!!

So I guess we are off to good start?!??

So I am watching the tail end of the Oregon vs. Boise State ball game and its pretty much over, I am just watching the seconds tick off the clock, as Boise State is gonna take this one 19-8. So the game ends, players start filing on the field to shake hands and show respect for a hard fought game. Well thats were it the respect flies out the window. From what was shown on ESPN, Boise State Defensive End, Byron Hout is jumping around, helmet off, celebrating and he slaps the Oregon tailback, Legarrette Blount on the shoulder. Well this apparently didn't sit well with Mr. Blount because he put ole Byron on his ass. I mean it was straight on the chin and poor Byron never saw it coming. Was it cheap? Hell yeah it was cheap. Did Byron deserve it? He probably did. Who knows what he might have said to Thug living Blount. Was Blount justified in laying this dude out? Probably not. I mean he hit Byron so hard his grandmother felt it. Then he went after the fans. Classy Blount, very Classy.

So with that being said, let me emphasize this point. You don't mess with the Mississippi Boys. Sure, Blount is originally from Florida, but he played Juco at East Mississippi Community College. Apparently this guy is pretty big thug and has some attitude problems. I am guessing he is no longer a 'Duck' after this incident.

***On a sidenote, props to WR Coach Scott Frost for restraining this idiot. And for those of you who don't know who Scott Frost is, he is a former QB for the Nebraska Cornhuskers from 1995 -1997 where he was the starting QB for there 1997 National Championship team. So there is your trivia question and answer.

Yo!!

So I am heading to the Memphis airport Tuesday morning to pick up my cousin. He works in Charleston, SC and was coming home for a little break from it all. I took my mother's car because honestly, it can fly. After digging through her 3 disc changer, I discover she has 3 CD's in there with the exact same songs, different order on all 3 CD's. Immediately I am taken aback by this and a little pissed, so I opt for morning talk radio. I figured it was too early to call people and shoot the bull, although I did shoot out some text. Anyway, I hit the exit ramp in Grenada and I am thankful because now I will be able to actually pick up a radio station. So I am digging along through the dial and low and behold this is playing. Hadn't heard this song in a couple of months so I am feeling it. Let me tell you, the audio system in a Toyota Avalon is pretty damn impressive. Was I bumping it? You damn skippy I was. Considered a beer and maybe a smoke, but came to my senses and realized it was 7:30 in the morning and this wasn't my car. I did combat that wish/idea with opening up the sunroof. If you saw me, I hope you took pictures. Anyway, the week is winding down, college football is about to kick down the door; NFL to follow shortly after that. Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to absolutely the best time of the year. Embrace these next five months, as they will be gone before you know it. I hope this gets your Thursday going in the right direction.
