COLEMAN NAMED SEC PITCHER OF THE WEEK

BATON ROUGE -- LSU right-hander Louis Coleman was named Southeastern Conference Pitcher of the Week Monday by the league office.

Coleman, a senior from Schlater, Miss., was brilliant on the mound last week, posting two victories over Kentucky to lead LSU to an SEC series victory. In two appearances vs. UK (one start), Coleman was 2-0 with a 0.93 ERA in 9.2 innings, allowing just one run on five hits with no walks and 11 strikeouts.

Coleman earned the win in relief on Friday night, limiting the Wildcats to no runs on one hit in 2.2 innings with no walks and four strikeouts. He returned as the starting pitcher in the final game of the series on Sunday (a seven-inning contest), and he recorded a complete-game victory, allowing one run on four hits with no walks and seven strikeouts.

Coleman also made a relief appearance against Louisiana-Lafayette on Wednesday, working two shutout innings with five strikeouts. On the year, the right-hander is 4-1 with a 0.40 ERA in 22.2 innings, recording four walks and 32 strikeouts.
