In case you missed it....

This guy is pretty incredible. A no-no in the postseason is about as rare as they come as far as personal/team accomplishments. I say team because the defense has gotta play behind this guy, who is straight up dealing. There has been lots of talk on the radio today about this, as it should be, and the points that keep coming up are that the Cincinatti Reds are frauds and that is it coincidental that this guy, who tossed a perfect game earlier this year, tossed a no-no in the postseason with the same umpire behind the plate as his perfecto. If you listen to "The Herd" on ESPN radio you know what this is all about because Colin has been calling the Reds a fraud for a good long while. As for the same umpire for the perfecto and the no-no, there is some discussion about maybe this umpire, whom I forget his name, shows a little favortism towards Halladay because he works fast. Halladay is not out there walking around the mound in between pitches, soaking up the sights. He is up on the rubber and ready to work. It is strange and certainly not far fetched as far as I am concerned. Certainly something else to think about.

As for the rest of postseason baseball, I am a little surprised that the Tampa Rays are down 2-0 to the Texas Rangers. I felt that they would certainly have better pitching in the series, but then again it is the American League and there are more bats to deal with in the order. Not that it should be a problem, it just kinda looks like it has the makings of a choke job by the Rays. Series isn't over yet though so expect to see them rally.

The Yankees are taking care of business as usual. They just seem to own the Twins in the Postseason so we will shall see if the Twins have any mustard left to get back into the series.

The National league, so far has been headlined by strong pitching. Halladay with the no-no and Lincecum throws a complete game, 14 K performance for a 1-0 W over the Braves. I like the Phillies in a sweep over the Reds and I am really hoping that the Braves get back in the series tomorrow. It would be nice to send Bobby Cox out a winner or at least advance to the NLCS to face the Phillies.

In addition, one of the best recievers out there today is going back to where it all began. Randy Moss headed back home to Minnesota in a trade from the Pats. The Pats got some draft picks and Randy gets to catch rockets off the ageless wonder, Brett Favre. It seems that Randy had become a distraction in the locker room over in New England and that just doesn't fly with Belichek. I think this fresh start for Randy is going to be a great thing. He'll definately have amply chances to get the ball and make plays because lord knows the Vikings need wideouts. Is there any coincidence that Belichek makes the trade to Minnesota right about the time they are set to suite up against the NY Jets? The Pats hate the Jets so I find that pretty interesting in a chess match kinda way. Like Bill is saying, well, we gotta dump him so lets let the Jets deal with him again. Sure they got us earlier this year, but the hell with them now. Either way you slice it, Randy's Rocket is ready to race. Of course, he doesn't have Cris Carter out there.
